Third Leeds & Liverpool closure this week!

THE Leeds & Liverpool Canal has alas another stoppage—the third this week.

It is yet another swing bridge that has broken, this time Magull Swing Bridge in Maghull itself, Keith Gudgin reports.

Closed yesterday

The closure, yesterday, Thursday, has been caused by the failure of one of its barriers.

However we are told it will in this case be attended to quickly and it is hoped to be operable again quite soon.
