Cyclist gang terrorise towpath users

A GANG of cyclists are terrorising towpath users on the Calder & Hebble Navigation.

The latest was an attack on a man at Mill Bank Lock near Dewsbury by a gang of six youths on cycles on Tuesday evening.

Knocked to the ground

He was attacked and knocked to the ground but still holding on to his cycle that they were attempting to steal, and it was only as a result of the appearance of others that they gave up and rode away.

The man managed to get home but needed hospital treatment for the injuries to his face.

Others

It is understood that others have also been assailed on the towpath by the gang.  The police are investigating.
