If better looked after...

WHILST I sympathise with Brian Jarret’s thoughts about canals becoming linear water parks, writes Martin Howes.

If the environs of the example he quoted was a bit better looked after by the local council, then a few more people may be tempted into travelling into Coventry, but then again, it’s not the most inspiring destination.

Would suffer the same fate

Much of the BCN. would suffer the same fate if it were not for the sterling efforts of Birmingham Canal Navigations Society, in engaging the local communities and councils.

Use it or lose it is a mantra applied to many walks of life.
