Why wasn't it moved?

I AM somewhat confused by your photograph of the boat stuck on the bridge at Barrow-on-Soar, writes Helen Cripps.

Looking through the site I can see a photograph of it well clear of the water with its base showing and the water level down, yet I read that owing to the level of water it was not possible to remove it.  I just don't understand that, as the boat was upright and clear of the water.

Now there was your photograph yesterday showing the boat in a much worse condition having been tipped over, and goodness knows what sort of a mess that would have left inside with things falling around and half full of water.  It is not nice clear river water either as the sewage from Leicester goes into that river.

I feel most sorry for its owner Simon Limb, who most likely has to stand there watching his home disintegrate, and feel something better should have been done.
