IWA calling for hydrogen fuel cell development

Published: Wednesday, 05 February 2020

The IWA is not just calling for charging points for electric powered boats, writes Rodney Hardwick.

The response is well worth reading in full.  It can be accessed via the link to the January Bulletin on the IWA website.

Development of hydrogen fuels

It is also calling for the development of hydrogen fuel cells whose only exhaust is water.  These could be used for propulsion and other services.  The hydrogen could be used direct for cooking and heating or via fuel cell as electric.

This could be the answer for boats and cars.  No heavy batteries or lengthy recharging and quick refuelling.
Toyota is now selling Hydrogen powered cars and soon there will be trains.  Just needs a proper refuelling infrastructure.
