Body in canal

THE body of a man was discovered in the Shropshire Union Canal yesterday morning.

This was by the Bridge Inn at Brewood by the waterway, with the police putting a cordon in place around the area, Alan Tilbury reports.

Fell in previous night

As the body was discovered in the early morning is is assumed that the man fell into the water the previous night.

The police are not treating the death as suspicious and wish to speak to people that were in the pub during the evening.
