THE latest announcement from Canal & River Trust is that towpaths get muddy when it rains!

It tells us that the towpath on the Gloucester & Sharpness is muddy—because it has rained.

boggy towpathOf course they do

It is the section between Sellars Bridge and Rea Bridge that is affected, CaRT seemingly believing that people don't realise that when it rains on the non upgraded towpaths, they get muddy—of course they do.

Here's a picture of a towpath that could parhaps show those people who give out these silly warnings, what happens when it rains.

If there is a bank, then water runs down on to the towpath and makes it—muddy!
