Saw the best days of boating

WELL, I think your readers including myself had best get use to; it the canal network is dead for the boater, walkers and possibly fishermen, writes Tony Compton.

Unfortunately people in charge are only interested in their pay packet and do not give a dam about the system.  Walking a dog on canal towpaths use to be a thing of beauty, now it's like the dodgems.

Now avoid a lot of canals

This year I have noticed that it's been very quiet for boat traffic. We now tend to avoid a lot of canals due to cycle paths. We now say at least we saw the best days of boating.
