A SIGN stating 'No Mooring' having its 'No' painted over still does not prevent boaters being fined for mooring.

MooringSignThe 'No Mooring' sign was erected by the local council earlier this year along the Cam in Cambridge, but someone painted out the 'No' and a boat moored behind it, but the owner and others now believing mooring is permitted can still be fined, Alan Tilbury reports.

Restriction still applies

It is not known who painted out the 'No', but the council have stated that the restriction still applies and a fine of up to £50 will be levied on any boat moored. along nearby fencing.

There is some conjecture who actually painted out the word...
