Now its cycle counters

OUR contributor Roger Fox came across yet another scheme it seems to encourage cyclists.

As his photograph shows, this is an enormous cycle counter situated at the Edinburgh terminus of the Union Canal, that he believes sends mixed messages, but are encouraging cyclists in a very visible way.

Not a good idea

Erected at say Fradley Junction he feels certain that many would view one of these as not being a good idea at all, encouraging cyclists to mix where walkers are also encouraged.

The actual cost, installation and maintenance of such a device is not known, but seems already a target for vandals.
