Wykewell Lift Bridge open one hour a day

THOUGH not yet repaired, the Wykewell Lift Bridge will be open for one hour a day for navigation.

The Stainforth & Keadby Canal lift bridge was closed three weeks ago to navigation when it failed, stopping access to and from the Trent, but demand has caused Canal & River Trust to open it daily to allow passage, Keith Gudgin reports.

Book passage

This is between 9am and 10am daily,  but even then boaters will first have to book passage by ringing 03030 404040.

Passage will of course be assisted, with boaters not being allowed to operate the the bridge themselves as in the past. This is now in force.
