It's better in the cold

AS A continuous cruiser, who of course therefore boats all the year round, I welcome the colder weather, writes Paul Bostock.
For it means that us boaters once again have the waterways to ourselves. No hazard of new hirers who haven't a clue what they are doing; no dodging learner canoeists all over the place (and it will be my fault of they crash into the boat); no glaring anglers who have to pull in their lines; and safe for me and my dog with no mad cyclists to contend with on the towpsth.
Happy days!
