Weaver Navigation lock closed

THERE is no access for you intrepid boaters via the Weaver and Manchester Ship Canal.

Weston Marsh Lock connecting the Weaver to the Manchester Ship Canal has been closed due to mechanical damage, Keith Gudgon tells us.

Initial investigation has resulted in the statement that there could be possible repair work and that of course there will be no access to and from the ship canal until further notice.

However, Kevin McNiff tells us that 17 boats are scheduled to use it on the 18th after a rally at Ellesmere Port they hope it's fixed by then!
