Email: Foolhardy

Though I cannot really comment on Ed Walker's view of the man who stumbled down the icy steps, I most certainly can on his view of the young lad who died in the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

I wonder, can he honestly say that he too has never done anything foolhardy? I know I have, after all as the saying goes, boys will be boys. Foolhardy yes, but I like to believe, dangerous no.

But perhaps that particular pipe is near to a bridge, as they usually are, and I have seen, though in this case a man who had obviously spent too much time in the nearby pub, walk across a rather large diameter pipe, with one hand firmly on the bridge.

Not knowing the actual circumstance, perhaps Ed would have been better not to use the word dangerous, as it might be a local, but though foolhardy, thing that boys do.  However I could be wrong and the pipe nowhere near a support, in which case...
