IN ADDITION to the 16 years old charged with two sexual attacks on Saturday on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Rodley, there have been two other towpath attacks in Leeds around the same time.

The police have released information that there were two other attacks on the canal towpath that were not related to the attack where a woman was dragged to the ground by the 16 years old.

Attempted to grab woman

At around the same time of this attack on the towpath at Rodley, a 25 years old woman who was running on the towpath in Leeds was approached by a man who attempted to grab her, but she managed to sprint away.

The third attack on that morning was at around 8.20 when a 40 years old woman, also running along the towpath was dragged to the ground by a man, but managed to fight him off on the steps from the towpath to the ring road at Rodley.

Looking for black man

In addition to the arrested 16 years old, the police are looking for a black man in his late teens or early twenties, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and slim, in connection with an attack.  He was wearing a grey jacket, grey jogging bottoms and white trainers

There have been a series of attacks on women in and around Leeds, with the canal towpath being a favourite place, with the police aware of concerns of woman on their own using the towpath in and around the city.
