The treatment by Canal & River Trust of that vulnerable lady asleep in her boat was absolutely appalling and should never have happened.

As a supposed 'caring' trust, this must be rated as one of its biggest failures in public relations, all those men turning up with even the police present to evict the lady, but worse, the CaRT representative Corrine Rotherham present to make sure she was thrown out and her boat taken away.  No wonder she did not want to be filmed.

And as Victor Swift wrote why was that so important appointment of Sean Williams as its Welfare Officer, not present, or better still sorted it all out before hand. That appointment was nothing but a lot of useless hot air if this is an example.

They should all be ashamed, but I am glad the papers have the story.
