THE engineers working to repair Plank Lane Lift Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal are still awaiting parts.
Though it was over a fortnight since the bridge was broken in its closed position, and parts were ordered, these still have not been forthcoming, with the bridge still out of action, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Lifted each day
However, in view of the amount of boat traffic at this time of the school holidays, the bridge is still being lifted each day at 2pm to allow access to and from the Bridgewater Canal.
No definite date has been given for its eventual repair.
