Having read the varies fiascos, as you well call them, about the voting for Canal & River Trust Council, I just wonder just how much we can trust the results? Asks James Henry.
We must all know there are those complaining at not having received their code to allow them to vote, through the licensing people deciding not to send a full list, and now the Trust having to back down over cutting out boaters with less than a full 12 months licence, with the National Bargee Travellers Association managing to get a six days extension on voting for those boaters.
How reliable
From what you say part of this is the fault of those actually running the voting, which leaves me to wonder just how reliable it is.
I gather those people will send their results and then the Trust will release them, telling us who has been elected to the Council.
So you have the first lot who obviously don't know what they are doing, then the second lot whose statistics (360,000,000 visitors to the canals every year) leave a lot to be desired, sorting it all out!
I for one have my doubts about it all.
