There seems to be some confusion about the Elsan at Braunston. The Elsan that is defective (the one that Mick Fitzgibbons wrote about earlier in the year) is the one by Midland Chandlers, writes Maffi Oxford.

Which, if you come from Wigrams, is a left turn at the twin bridges, towards Hillmorton, and then just across the canal where there is also water and rubbish disposal.

On main sewer

If you turn right at that junction and past the Boat House pub under the road bridge there is an Elsan just past the bridge. It is on a main sewer line so can be used to P/O. The Stop House is about 200 yards further on.

There is no Elsan that I am aware of at the Stop House. However, there are P/O facilities in the marina and I am sure there is also an Elsan. Which means all is not as dark as people are painting it! Yes the defect should be fixed, but to suggest that Napton, Buckby and Hillmorton are the nearest alternatives is incorrect.

Not wanting to move too far

Might I suggest some people are not wanting to move too far from their 'spot'.

CaRT have many problems that are causing considerable inconvenience but this Elsan isn't one of them.
