Drunks on the rampage

MANCHESTER police had to be called when drunks went on the rampage early last Saturday morning at Castlefield Basin in the city.

Two men kicked-in the wooden doors of boats moored in the basin, startling the occupants.

According to a report the men left ‘a drunken trail of chaos' around the moorings and managed to start a 'cherry picker' hydraulic platform and attempted to steal it.

The moorings at Castlefield have numerous bars, and it is advised that boaters staying overnight moor in the basin opposite to the one with the bars, that does not suffer the same activity.
