Speeding cyclist landed in canal

IT WAS extreme sports fanatic Robert Ray obviously going too fast along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal at Tring, when he skidded and landed in the water with his bike.

He told that he 'catapulted' into the canal after his early morning race along the towpath, which rather shows he was going too fast.

He suffered a broken finger which had to have hospital treatment, after his wife took him to hospital.

He was travelling along the towpath by Watery Lane in Marsworth, when he lost control.
