Another lock wall in danger

AMONGST the many photographs we are receiving of water pouring through lock walls, one is particularly bad as Keith Gudgin writes.

We all know how bad it is when you see water pouring into the lock from the wall but when you see it pouring through the wall onto the towpath then alarms bells should be ringing incessantly.

Particularly bad

The picture shows the water coming through, and possibly undermining, the wall at Greensforge Lock on the Staffs & Worcester Canal which is particularly bad.

The water was definitely coming from the lock as it only flowed when the lock was full and did not flow when the lock was empty.

How long will it be before the whole wall and lock gate slides down through the pedestrian tunnel? Hope no one is passing through it at the time.
