Canalside development

THERE are three proposed developments for the canalside of the Grand Union Canal at Yiewsley and West Drayton, above Bull's Bridge.

A housing group wants to build 30 flats on the former Bentley's pub site just North of Bridge 192, with the promise that they would be 'affordable', Alan Tilbury reveals.

Block of flats

Behind this property is the former Dairy Crest factory, with plans to build a nine storey block of flats, though there could be problems concerning road access.

Another development is for housing on the former Rainbow industrial estate, which again fronts onto the Grand Union Canal.

There were plans for a hotel on the site of Harrier House, on the opposite side of the waterway, but it seems building was delayed too long so permission has expired.
