Trip boat jammed

A TRIP boat on the Thames was providing entertainment for onlookers yesterday (Friday) on Westminster Bridge as it attempted to get free.

The boat was approaching ready to dockĀ  when its captain misjudged the strength of the tide, with the boat ending up jammed against the bridge, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Strength of tide

A spokesman for the Port of London Authority stated the boat's crew were trying to dock the boat, but the strength of the tide took it into the bridge.

Eventually, as the tide receded, the boat was eased away from the bridge under its own power, managing to dock, with its passengers having a much longer trip than expected.
