Canal Centre re-opens

LINLITHGOW Canal Centre on the Union Canal opens for the season this Easter week-end until the end of September.

Tomorrow, Saturday, there will be a visit by the Edinburgh Model Boat Club, who will be displaying and operating a number of radio controlled model boats, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Almond Aqueduct

There will be boat trips on Saint Magdalene that leaves the centre in the early afternoon for a cruise to the Almond Aqueduct and back. There are also Town Boat Trips on Victoria every half hour during the afternoon.  On Sundays there are also trips to the Falkirk Wheel.

At the centre is Scotland's only canal museum together with a tea room, also open in the afternoons.

A Festival of Transport weekend is being held on Saturday and Sunday, 19th and 20th May, with steam boats, Victorian rides and a varied programme of music, including Linlithgow Reed Band.
