Email: Dredging opportunity

Whilst everyone is frustrated at the lack of water, which has been exacerbated by the lack of maintenance leading to unnecessary water leakage, why not try to salvage some good from a bad situation?

It struck me that whilst pounds are dry it would be an ideal time to carry out some much needed dredging in some areas. I know there will be an issue with access at some points but surely a JCB could remove some of the build up of silt from the towpath side even if the off side is unreachable.

A will to at least try these things would overcome some of the hurdles—as opposed to a mere acceptance and shrug of the shoulders.
