Hanged under canal bridge

EARLY morning towpath walkers were shocked to discover a man hanging by his neck under a canal bridge over the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Wigan.

When police arrived at Westwood Way Bridge, it was believed the man's body had been hanging for several hours, Alan Tilbury reveals.

 

Letter

It is understood that after the man, who is in his 20's, was cut down, a letter was found in his pocket and it is in the possession of Greater Manchester Police.

The police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
