Body parts gang found guilty

THE gang involved in the cutting-up of the body of Adam Vincent, and disposing of the parts in the waterways have been found guilty and are due for sentencing.

Readers may remember the story in narrowboatworld where a man's torso was found in the Louth Navigation, his left arm in Tetney Lock, a leg in the Ancholme (pictured) and his head also found in the waterway.  Police also searched the Calder & Hebble Navigation, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Drugs gang

It was a drugs gang that murdered the man then chopped his body into six parts and dumped them in the various waterways, in a revenge attack, as it was believed he had stolen drugs and money.

Members of the gang were found guilty this week after being lured to Hebden Bridge to buy drugs, being cheaper than in the big cities.

Found guilty

At Sheffield Crown Court, Lee Griffiths, his sons Luke and Thomas, and his stepson Mark Jackson were all found guilty of the murder of Adam Vincent.

Another man, Matthew Frow, was found not guilty of murder, but convicted of causing grievous bodily harm.  All five were also found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

It is understood that Hebden Bridge has a wide reputation  for being a source for illegal drugs, with the number of people dying in the town from overdose leading to the making of a documentary.
