Towpath tent burglars

A TENT erected on the towpath of the Ouse in York housed four suspected burglars.

Thieves had broken into a house, stealing various electrical items including a laptop, together with the keys for the Honda parked outside, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Getaway vehicle

They then used the car as their getaway vehicle, parking it near their hideaway tent on the towpath, but were seen by a off duty policeman, who immediately alerted his colleagues.

The police team were then led to the tent, where three men and a woman were discovered, together with the keys to the stolen car.

They were all arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
