Wants support for marina

THE people behind the proposed marina at Trevor by the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct are still trying to get support for the plans.

The plans include restoring the short Plas Kynaston Canal with a 60 berths marina at its terminus on a disused factory site, as previously announced in narrowboatworld.

Special meeting

People in favour of the plans are being asked to attend a special meeting to discuss the plans at a public hearing for Wrexham Council's local development plan, that is scheduled to start on 25th January, and campaign organiser David Metcalfe is asking local people to show their support for the canal and marina project.

The Plas Kynaston Canal and Marina Group submitted its first plans in June last year, getting a great deal of support to have them included in the local development plan.

The Welsh Government has appointed Hywel Wyn Jones of the Planning Inspectorate Wales to oversee the examination that is expected to last a month, and include various hearings.
