Want your votes

A PLAN to help young people in Ellesmere Port develop new skills and interests has been selected by the NatWest Community Force Scheme to face a public vote.

If successful, the project would win £6,000 and provide a positive outlet for their creative talents.

Keep it running

The Boaty Youth Theatre based at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port, needs the money to keep running its drama and film project, giving young people in the town a much needed opportunity to develop new skills and interests.

Gaynor La Rocca, Youth Activity Co-ordinator at the National Waterways Museum, explains:

"Young people often say there is nothing to do in Ellesmere Port. Our Boaty Youth Theatre project and Young Film-makers group provide valuable opportunities to direct their talents and energies in a positive way.

"If we won the money we would be able to pay for professional drama and film practitioners, film software, props and costumes. We'd also be able to help young people get formal accreditation, helping to improve their job prospects."

Can vote now

People can vote for the project from today, Monday 26th September until Sunday 23rd October. Votes need to be cast on-line at http://communityforce.natwest.com/project/2797
