How I agree with the thoughts of many recently on the ‘sudden' alarm over water levels!
Chief among the problems noted by many will be reservoirs! How do they compare now with their profile before being initially filled?
The profile, for example, of Wilton Water (Crofton Pumping Station), on the Kennet & Avon Canal, will be nothing like now what it was when first filled for use!
It's no good British Waterways Hydro...' sorry, depth gaugers, measuring reservoirs from the silt up!
It's not just side ponds that need cleaning out and restoring, in my humble opinion.
