Beware in Middlewich

BOATERS travelling the Trent & Mersey Canal through Middlewich are advised to take extra care.

A couple passing through were pelted by apples as they cruised through on Sunday, with some actually hitting them, being unable to escape the bombardment, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Number of incidents

It was youths who were throwing the apples, with the police remarking that it was just one of an increased number of incidents of antisocial behaviour in the area.

However, we are told that patrols have been stepped up to attempt to control the problem.
