Good use for the infill

GOOD use could be put to the infill that is being taken out of the old waterway in Stroud—it  being used to level out a football pitch.

The pitch at Marling School in Stroud is not only uneven but slopes down towards the waterway, resulting in many balls ending up in the disused canal.

But part of the restoration of the Cotswold Canals  are plans to use the infill from the length in Stroud when it is excavated, to level out the football pitch.

Councillors are in favour of this as it saves it having to be disposed of elsewhere, most likely a hole somewhere, and around 50,000 cubic metres having to be removed it would need a rather large hole.
