Email: Council wrong

I think the answer given to Mike by the council that they are unable to trim trees back without the owner's permission is wrong.

As I understand it, a tree, bush etc., which over hangs a neighbour's garden can legitimately be trimmed back to the border, (notwithstanding any special provision).

Further the highway authority is obliged to maintain the highway within the regulations set down.

I well remember an open top double deck bus being used to carry out just such work.
