A BOATER on the Grand Union Canal at Leamington has been stabbed by the thief who stole his I-phone.
The thief on a cycle struck up a conversation with the owner of a narrowboat then when the cyclist left the boater realised his I-phone was missing, so went in pursuit, finding the thief in an alley, where he demanded his property back, Graham Phillips tells us.
Slashed boater's arm
After returning the phone the thief then slashed the boater's arm with a knife then dashed away. A passer-by called for an ambulance as the boater's arm was bleeding profusely, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
There have been other accounts of boaters suffering robberies in the area.
