One drowned one recovered

THE BODY of a man was found in the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Marsden this morning (Wednesday).

A towpath walker discovered the body at around 7am and informed the police, Mike Fretwell tells us. It is understood that a man and his dog went missing the night previously, and it is thought this could be that person.

Blackburn

Another fell into a canal, this time the Leeds & Liverpool at Blackburn near Asda,  reveals Alan Tilbury, but was rescued by the emergency services, and needed hospital treatment.

These are in addition to the man who jumped off the bridge at Wigan, as previously reported in narrowboatworld.
