IT IS VAZONS DRAWBRIDGE (83) at Keadby on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal that has failed again.

KeadbySliding2But this time no reason is given, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is the bridge that does not work outside certain temperatures, it not sliding open to allow boat traffic through, but the temperature is within its parameters at the moment.

Fails quite often

It fails quite often as it did when we last attempted to get through, then a man came and within minutes it was sliding across to let the boats pass.

This time it seems to be more than a man coming to release something, as we are told the railway people are intending to carry out repairs on the evening of Saturday the 1st of November.

It is of course presently in its closed position to allow rail traffic to pass over the waterway.
