Two stoppages get the 'quick-fix' treatment

Published: Friday, 07 June 2024

BOTH the Calder & Hebble Navigation and the Stourbridge Canal had stoppages yesterday, Thursday.

But both are expected to be quickly attended to and reopened later today, Keith Gudgin reports.

Failures

It is the Bottom Guillotine Lock 3 at Salterhebble that has a fault and closed the navigation whilst at Stourbridge the ground paddle on Lock 3 has failed.

However Canal & River Trust maintain that both stoppages will be fixed later today.

In both cases it is the local teams that are attending to the problems, and so will not take the length of time to fix should contractors be involved.
