To enquire what dimensions are recorded against their boat to ensure they are not being charged a wide beam surcharge.

There is obviously some confusion in the recording of imperial measurement v metric! My boat with a 6’9” beam had been recorded as 6 meters 9 centimetres since 2016! [As a widebeam.]

The wide beam surcharge has now been refunded.

Obviously, a lot of employees today have only been taught metric at school and have no knowledge of imperial measurement. So should use their on-site calculator to check your licence cost excluding any payment discounts applicable.
