Floods prevent Open Day

THE Open Day scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday. at Hungerford has been cancelled.

This was to take place at Dun  Mill Lock, on the Kennet & Avon Canal. but Canal & River Trust tell that the  persistent storms over recent weeks have led to particularly high water levels and poor ground conditions, which means that the site will not be accessible for visitors.

The work on the lock however is being completed with it being recorded on film in a ten minute tour that will be shown later.

There are other Open Days sceduled, but we are not aware if any of these are also cancelled.
