THERE have been four closures reported over the week-end.
The Chesterfield Canal was closed from Lock 41 up to Norwood Tunnel, with lack of water, Keith Gudgin reports, but this should now be solved after the heavy rainfall.
Wrenbury Lift Bridge
Wrenbury Lift Bridge on the Llangollen (pictured) is out of order again, but no reason given, but this was quickly reopened.
The Kennet & Avon is really suffering with another closure in addition to the long five week stoppage at Wooton Rivers, with Copse Lock (80) with a 'damaged balance beam' closing the navigation.
The Shropshire Union Canal remains closed at the Northgate Locks in Chester, for though contractors attended Lock 3, to attempt a temporary repair, this has been unsuccessful, and the navigation remains closed.
