Another lock breaks on the Huddersfield Narrow

ANOTHER lock on the Huddersfield Narrow has broken closing the waterway.

This time it is an issue with the balance beam and mitre post on Lock 7W causing it to be inoperable, Keith Gudgin reports.

Sometime next week

Canal & River Trust tell that 'a method of repair' has been created', but it does not anticipate this will be undertaken until sometime next week.

This means the navigation is closed between locks 5W to 8W until the repair takes place.
