Tragedy strikes twice

IT WAS in September last year that boater Gary Rothwell lost his narrowboat.
Moored at Slaithwaite on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, his boat was fired by youths, so he lost his home, reports Stuart Field.
After the fire he had moved into a caravan on the site, but tragedy struck twice as a tree fell on top of it blown by the strong winds on Thursday night, whilst inside, leaving him homeless once again.
It was a neighbour of Stuart he met on the towpath who was taking medicines for Gary, who told of his second tragedy,
The image shows Gary's narrowboat after youths had set it on fire.
