Human remains found in Bridgewater Canal
POLICE yesterday, Sunday, discovered human remains in the Bridgewater Canal in Manchester.
Though the remains have not yet been identifield, they are believed to be those of missing Peter Baglin, who the police have been searching for since going missing in December, Keith Gudgin reports.
The remains were discovered in the waterway at Worsley, with officers still searching the vicinity today, Monday.
Tactical Aid Unit
It was the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Tactical Aid Unit that discovered the human remains when they were conducting a search of the area around the canal.
Detective Inspector Michael Sharples of the GMP Salford District confirmed the find earlier today.
The death is at this time being treated as unexplained with enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances of the man who disapeared 10 weeks ago after an evening walk along the canal.
