Don't moor near trees!

BOATER Bernard Richardson, mooring on the Llangollen, now wishes he hadn't moored under a tree, as it fell and damanged his narrowboat.

He and his wife Barbara, who took to the waterways some seven years ago were in Shrewsbury when a telephone call from British Waterways told them their boat had been crushed by a tree.

The picture shows a British Waterways engineer cutting the tree away.

The boat, No Worries, moored near St. Martins on the waterway, had been severely damaged by the full grown tree, and should they have been on board there could have been serious injuries to either of them.
