Doesn't have the necessary equipment

THE delay to the repair of paddles on a lock was due to not having the necessary equipment!

The paddle repair works on Beeston Stone Lock on the Shropshire Union Canal could not be completed as the people undertaking the work do not have the necessary equipment, Keith Gudgin reports.

Equipment not available

It is not stated if these are contractors or the trust's own team, but the work was delayed until the equipment was available.

This has now been obtained and the paddle work can be undertaken, but it is not scheduled until this coming Friday 22nd July.
