More stoppages than days!

WITH the failure of a lock on the  Aire & Calder comes the number of stoppages beating the days of the month!

Yesterday, Thursday 9th June, saw the failure of Woodesford Lock on the Aire & Calder navigation—the 10th stoppage already this month, as Keith Gudgin reports.

One a day

So it seems that stoppages will be 'one a day', well proving that the method of little—and cancelledwinter maintenance but leaving it until it breaks is not working, not for boaters anyway.

This time we are told the sluice has failed to operate, that can only relate to a single sluice being working.

However we are told engineers are attempting to resolve the issue.
