Another broken collar

ANOTHER broken collar on a lock gate has closed a waterway.
This time it is the Rochdale with a broken collar on the offside head gate of Lock 7 that has snapped-off, Keith Gudgin reports.
No longer safe to operate
This of course has closed the waterway at Hebden Bridge as Canal & River Trust state that the gate is no longer safe to operate.
This occurred this morning, Friday, with we are informed the team on its way, that perhaps could see the lock reopened quickly.
LATEST: A quick one indeed, with the collar replaced the same day—with no contractors involved! The navigation reopened.
