Mon & Brec culvert stoppage extended

Published: Friday, 18 March 2022

THE stoppage on the Mon & Brec has had to be extended.

It was a fallen tree that damaged a culvert that caused the stoppage that has closed the waterway, Keith Gudgin reports.

Punctured the culvert

But with one of the tree's branches puncturing the culvert this now has to be repaired before the dewatered section can be refilled.

It will be a fortnight, 1st April, before there will be any further information concerning the canal's reopening that is blocked between bridges 148 and 149 at Cross Oak.
